Byron Bay is a changing place, and can change you, if you let it. Float in the ocean, dive like a dolphin, surf, fly like a bird, skydive, make music and dance. Do something to change your outlook on life and find your greater self.
Byron Bay is a healing place. Get some personal attention. The total focus and dedication of experienced healers awaits you. Good health and wellbeing are yours. The small cost of therapies hardly covers the years of study and training needed, the physical, intellectual and spiritual energies required, and often the cost of materials and equipment.
Healing therapies are as diverse as peoples’ needs. Sometimes people seek their healing, and sometimes it seeks them. Be warned that wandering healers live in this place.
For a brief description of Healing Therapies see page 78. Pamper yourself at least once.
The more traditional might like to take their body into Ocean Shores Physiotherapy for a tune-up. Debilitating pain is not the only prerequisite for change. Small changes now are an investment in a healthier future. Solve the problem of which therapy best suits you by spending some time with a practitioner skilled in several fields, like Adri (p76), or enquire at a healing centre with several practitioners, like Seeta (p81) or Byron Medicine Wheel (p83). Word of mouth is the best recommendation, but the key is to actually do it, not just talk about it.
Make music. Everyone can sing, some better than others, but you can make the most of your voice with a little training. Once you have heard Sasha sing with The Big Band At The End Of The Universe, (at the Buddha Bar), you’ll know she has what it takes to bring out your voice.(p27)
Talk to her: 0431 580 510 and sing. Pick up an instrument. Wander the music shop and take home the sound that inspires you. At the Pocketguides office and Clearlight Designs Gallery we are giving away Shakuhachi flutes and lessons. Find the music in you and let it out.
If you are visiting, make good health and joy your souvenir. Even if you live in Byron you can go home a better person.
If you are on holidays, forget sleeping in, get to the beach for sunrise it will refresh your soul. Take a nap later after lunch.
